Moraine Lake sits in the Valley of the Ten Peaks, fed by glacial melt from the surrounding Wenkchemna peaks. Its turquoise colour comes from "rock flour" — fine rock sediment ground down by glaciers and suspended in the water, scattering light back in shades of blue and green. Driftwood collects along the shoreline each season, caught between the forest and the water like the peaks are caught in their own reflection.
