Emerald Waters - 2015

Lake Louise is fed by the Victoria Glacier, its water carrying the same brilliant turquoise as Moraine Lake from fine glacial sediment suspended in the current. The lake takes its name from Princess Louise Caroline Alberta, Queen Victoria's daughter — the same princess the province of Alberta is named for. On a clear summer day the colour turns almost impossibly bright against the surrounding peaks.
