On Patrol

On a cool March morning in India's Tadoba Tiger Reserve, this female tiger moved with a quiet confidence through dry teak forest on her daily patrol, pausing to scent-mark the boundaries of her range. Tadoba, located 140–150 km from Nagpur in Maharashtra's Chandrapur district, is one of the last strongholds for wild Bengal tigers — a species that was hunted for sport for generations and remains endangered across its range today.
